Standard Features of the GM-501 Amish Grandmother Clock

The windup option comes with the following features:

  • Solid hardwood and plywood construction
  • Hermle 451-053 94cm chain-driven movement
  • Westminster chime melody chimes on the quarter hour and strikes on the hour (no auto-night silencer)
  • Lyre pendulum
  • Movement is accessible by removing the clock “head”

  1. Would it be possible for you to build this clock with the same sculptured, curved top that clocks #509, 602, and 604 have instead of the 3-part top with a finial in the center? I do realize that the width of this clock is less than that of the grandfather clocks with the curved top so and the width of the top would have to be less accordingly.

  2. Your grandmother clock GM501 does not have an automatic night-time chime shutoff. Can the chimes be shut off manually?

    • Yes, the chimes on the GM-501 can be shut off manually using the switch near the 3:00 position on the dial.
