Clock Movements

Old Time Chimes warrants the manufacture of all its clocks movements to be free from defects for 3 years, subject to normal use, after the date of purchase and receipt of the Purchaser. This warranty applies only to the original owner and is non-transferrable.

The following minor adjustments are not covered under the warranty as instructions will be provided on how to make these adjustments:

  • Setting up the clock (with the exception of the initial setup if included in the purchase)
  • Oiling and cleaning (oiling recommended for mechanical movements every 2-3 years and cleaning every 5-10 years)
  • Replacement of the suspension spring, pendulum, timing adjustments, and chime/strike hammer adjustments.

General

This warranty does not cover damages which result from neglect, abuse, acts of nature, normal wear and tear, exposure to extremes in temperatures or humidity, water damage, fading or discoloration in finish over time, scratches, blemishes, or slight variations in wood grain, minor size variations, unauthorized repairs, alterations or misuse of the item, or breakage. It does not cover any tampering with the clock movement, including the spraying of lubricants, other than the procedures in the setup and care instructions. Any attempts to repair the movement without first contacting Old Time Chimes about the problem will void the warranty. The warranty also does not cover accidents that damage the clock including but not limited to broken glass, damage resulting from a clock falling off the wall, or any other abuse.

Should service under this warranty be needed, the Purchaser must contact Old Time Chimes within the warranty time period as specified for the defective part of the clock. Old Time Chime’s obligation under this limited warranty, at the option of Old Time Chimes, is to repair if possible or replace the product with an equal type if available, within ninety days of the receipt of the warranty service request, and only if the product is found to be defective under normal household use and service.

Repairs and/or replacements under this warranty will be made solely by Old Time Chimes and as its sole discretion authorizes, at no charge to the purchaser. If Old Time Chimes finds it necessary to return the product to the factory, all packing and shipping costs may be charged to the Purchaser. The Purchaser may be required to pay any and all costs for delivery to and from the factory.
